One Week Yoga Retreat
This one week yoga retreat is for you if:
- You’d like to spend a week practicing yoga & breathwork outdoors: garden, creek-side, beach;
- You want a balanced mix of daily yoga & other activities in beautiful coastal surroundings;
- You want to return home inspired, re-energised and with some new friends.

One week yoga retreat in Norfolk
This one week retreat is all about finding freedom in the beautiful coastal surroundings of the West Norfolk with Yoga Teacher & Breath Coach Bridget Rooth. Hosted in two neighbouring Norfolk stone cottages – with connected gardens – in the heart of Heacham Village, this is the second edition of this popular summer retreat.
You’ll enjoy daily yoga classes in a variety of places: the main cottage garden, down by the old tidal creek behind the dunes, and even on the beach (and possibly in a hall if it rains). A guest yoga teacher will lead a yoga & sounds workshop on the first morning.
You will explore your breathing habits in the Breathe Better, Stress Less workshop, with guidance on retraining dysfunctional breathing habits and adopting new breathing techniques to boost your wellbeing. Breathwork is included in all the yoga sessions and you will experience a guided ‘breathwalk’ down to the beach one morning as a warm-up to a creek-side yoga class.
Celebrate the Summer Solstice on the beach
The evening of June 20th, you will be taken out on paddle boards at Brancaster Staithe, under the guidance of a paddleboard instructor (no previous paddle boarding experience required), for an enchanting tour through the creeks. For those who fancy, this is followed by a starlit swim on the rising tide. You are rewarded afterwards with hot chai and cake before we return to Retreat Cottage.
To celebrate the Summer Solstice on June 21st – the longest day – you are invited down to Bridget’s family’s beach house at South Beach. You will be creating a beach mandala and enjoying sunset drinks on the dunes before being welcomed to an evening feast followed by time together around the fire pit in the beach house garden.

Free time to explore or relax
You will have free afternoons and a whole free day to explore this beautiful coastal area on foot, by bike or car.
Heacham Village, on the West Norfolk Coast, is a picturesque village mainly built in Norfolk carrstone. Bridget’s street dates from 1890 and lies at the heart of this thriving village. It’s a 20-minute walk or five-minute cycle to the two beaches. North Beach connects via a sea wall to the Victorian resort town of Hunstanton and South Beach, which is wilder, borders Wild Ken Hill (BBC springwatch rewilding project) and the village of Snettisham where there is an RSPB bird sanctuary.

Yoga retreat accommodation
You will stay in one of two neighbouring Norfolk stone houses. One is aptly named Retreat Cottage, where there are three guest bedrooms (two doubles and a twin room) and two bathrooms. A co-host will be staying with guests in Retreat Cottage.
The long garden at Retreat Cottage connects to Bridget’s garden. Her house will welcome two to four guests in the two guest bedrooms and two bathrooms.
One week yoga retreat menu
The all-inclusive price includes all meals (except lunch on the FREE day), healthy snacks and unlimited tea, coffee and herbal teas. Every day you will enjoy home-made vegetarian meals prepared by Bridget and her co-host in Retreat Cottage. One or two meals will be served outdoors at the South Beach property.
Norfolk is a huge food producer and Bridget sources as much of her food locally as possible. This could mean Norfolk-milled and grown flour for her breads, a variety of vegetables or Norfolk produce from the Heacham farm shop, such as Norfolk honey, cheese or chutney.
Everything is cooked from scratch so we are happy to cater for vegans or to adapt to other dietary requests.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the level of yoga?
I have welcomed complete yoga beginners to teachers-in-training – and every level in between on my retreats.
Anyone – with any yoga level – is welcome to come on the retreat. This one week yoga retreat group will be quite small – from five to eight people so there is plenty of scope for personalised attention.
What if I’ve never been Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) before?
Don’t worry – we ran quite a few collaborations with Annalisa from Brancaster Boards last summer and I can confirm that she is a fabulous instructor. Most of the people who came with us were beginners and everyone had a great time. You can watch a little video of a dawn SUP + yoga session from summer 2022 on the video below (the guest in the video was paddle boarding for the first time!).
What do I need to pack for the yoga retreat?
Once you’ve reserved your place on the one week yoga retreat, I’ll send you some Joining Instructions with a full packing list. I ask everyone to bring their own yoga mat – all the other yoga equipment such as bolsters, blankets, blocks etc are provided.
Do you cater for special dietary needs?
There will be two of us cooking everything from scratch for the one week yoga retreat. We ask every guest to fill in a Guest Information Sheet so we know about their allergies or special dietary needs before we plan the menu.
If you are not sure – please contact me and let me know your special needs and I’ll be happy to discuss how we can accommodate you.
What makes Bridget different from other yoga or breath coaches?
I did a career pivot after a pretty stressful career in the language industry, mostly spent running my own company in Beijing, China. Because I wanted to share a wellness skillset I had been developing for my own needs during my career, I have specialised in stress management and burnout recovering. I put a lot of emphasis on offering a nurturing, nourishing and inspiring retreat experience.
What certifications does Bridget hold?
As well as holding two certificate courses in yoga (200 hr Yoga Teacher Training Course + 50 hr Yoga for Kids Training Course), I’m currently completing a 200 hr Yin Yoga course. I hold a stress certified course in meditation with the British Mindfulness Institute and I’m a certified Positive Neuroplasticity Coach. Furthermore, I’m registered with CIMPSA in the UK and insured by UK Coaching.
