The Norfolk yoga retreats are for people who want to wind down and relax in a smaller, more intimate group setting. From the tranquil surrounds of her Norfolk stone home, Yoga Teacher & Breath Coach Bridget Rooth offers from one to four guests the chance to train their minds and bodies in the yoga studio, relax at the fireside or in the garden, and connect over delicious, vegetarian home-cooked meals.
The Finding Space retreat
Norfolk yoga retreats for two to four people.
The Finding Space retreat is for you if:
• You have never been on a retreat before and you’d love to experience one
• You are nervous about your level of yoga and not being good enough (don’t worry!)
• You like learning in a small-group setting with ample individual attention.

Norfolk Yoga Retreat
Norfolk has always offered me ‘space’. All my life I have been coming to this part of the coast for my holidays – first as a child with my parents, then with my three children when I was living in France and China. Now it’s my turn to share this beautiful, wild, freeing space with others.
Finding Space means something different to every one of my guests. I know because I always ask that question at my retreat opening. For some guests, it means finding headspace, for others space to reflect, for some space to stretch the body and release pent-up tension, and yet others are looking to find space in the lungs and improve their shallow breathing habits.
I created these Norfolk yoga retreats to hold space for my guests, so that each guest can find the space they need, in the way that suits them.

Mind
Learning to manage your mind is a lifelong pursuit and one that is greatly assisted by yoga. Guests learn other tools to help quieten over-busy minds, finding space for curiosity, creativity & calm.

Body
Gentle hatha yoga is used on the first two days to find space in the body & release pent-up tension; on Sunday morning, more dynamism & flow is introduced into the yoga session.

Breath
In the Breath Better, Stress Less workshop guests explore how to identify & retrain poor breathing habits. Efficient breathing is a major component of good health and contributes to managing stress, emotions & sleep.

Food
Gathering around a table to share food, ideas and friendship forms a core part of the retreat. Locally sourced ingredients are freshly prepared into healthy vegetarian-friendly dishes and shared around Bridget’s vibrant table.

Nature
The retreat is a time to reconnect to nature with wetland & beach walks, breathing sessions by the tidal creek, optional walking meditations in silence as well as meals around the picnic table or fire pit.

The Finding Space retreat
On the Norfolk yoga retreats, guests enjoy freshly prepared food made with the choicest local ingredients. Mealtimes provide an opportunity for communal sharing and creating deeper connections.
Bridget’s tastes and cuisine have been shaped by a life of travel, and she takes great pleasure in hosting guests around her vibrant, colourful table. All the food is vegetarian friendly and Bridget often caters to vegan guests as well.

“I'm really happy I chose Bridget's retreat - loved every minute of it!
RosaCustomer Services Manager
The program was diverse and well-balanced & the combination of yoga and breathwork very powerful. I learned a lot - I am more aware now of the way I breath and how that impacts my well-being and state of mind. I also loved the small group - this way you get a lot of personal attention and it's interesting to share experiences with your fellow retreaters 🙂
Bridget is very welcoming, open-minded and knowledgeable and makes you feel at home in her house.

“I loved every minute of my retreat, from long walks on beautiful wild beaches, strolls through the village, yoga and breathing sessions with Bridget, right through to the fabulous cooking. Bridget really makes you feel welcome and at home; she is fun, energetic and full of interesting stories and by being connected to nature, gardens, sea, fresh food and body movement - she helps you do the same. I left peaceful, invigorated and full of gratitude for this beautiful experience.”

Frequently Asked Questions
When do you run this Norfolk Yoga Retreat?
This Norfolk yoga retreat is usually a weekend retreat. Check-in is at 5pm on Friday evening and all the learning part of the retreat is completed by 1pm on the Sunday. You can download the full Norfolk Yoga Retreats program here.
However, if you’d like to book the whole house for a group of three or four people, I’m happy to organise a mid-week retreat especially for you. Contact me with your required dates and I’ll be happy to discuss welcoming you during the week.
Why is this Norfolk yoga retreat called Finding Space?
Norfolk has always offered me ‘space’. All my life I have been coming to this part of the coast for my holidays – first as a child with my parents, then with my three children when I was living in France and China. Now it’s my turn to share this beautiful, wild, freeing space with others through my Norfolk Yoga Retreats.
Finding Space means something different to every one of my guests. I know because I always ask that question at my retreat opening ceremony. For some guests, it means finding headspace, for others space to reflect, for some space to stretch the body and release pent-up tension, and yet others are looking to find space in the lungs and improve their shallow breathing habits.
My role is to hold space so that each guest can find the space they need, in the way they need on a Norfolk Yoga Retreat.
What is the level of yoga?
I have welcomed complete yoga beginners to teachers-in-training – and every level in between. Because the retreats only have between two and four guests, it’s quite easy to give every guest the attention they need.
Anyone – with any yoga level – is welcome to come on any of the Norfolk Yoga Retreats.
What do I need to pack for the Norfolk yoga retreats?
Once you’ve reserved your place one of the Norfolk yoga retreats, I’ll send you some Joining Instructions with a full packing list. I ask everyone to bring their own yoga mat – all the other yoga equipment such as bolsters, blankets, blocks etc are provided.
Do you cater for special dietary needs on your Norfolk yoga retreats?
I cook everything from scratch and ask every guest to fill in a Guest Information Sheet so I know about their allergies or special dietary needs.
If you are not sure – please contact me and let me know your special needs and I’ll be happy to discuss how I can accommodate you on my Norfolk Yoga Retreats.
What makes Bridget different from other yoga or breath coaches?
I came from a career in the language industry where I lived through some very stressful situations. I’m more likely to call myself a business woman than a yoga teacher. I wanted and to share a wellness skillset I had been developing for my own needs during my career and to move from working with documents to working with people. My Norfolk Yoga Retreats draw on all my skill sets, including hosting & feeding people!
Watch Bridget tell you about her retreats here.
What certifications does Bridget hold?
As well as doing two certificate courses in yoga (200 hr Yoga Teacher Training Course + 50 hr Yoga for Kids Training Course) and I’m currently completing a 200 hr Yin Yoga course. I hold a stress certified course in meditation with the British Mindfulness Institute and I’m a certified Positive Neuroplasticity Coach. I will graduated with a diploma in Life Coaching with Breathwork on an approved IFC in September 2023. Furthermore, I’m registered with CIMPSA in the UK and insured by UK Coaching.
What about Covid? What safety measures do you have in place for my stay?
I started organising my Norfolk Yoga Retreats in the year of lockdown and although lockdown has now lifted I have kept in place some of the recommended Covid precautions. The house is open plan downstairs and I keep it well ventilated. The yoga room has a door and we practice with the window slightly open or we practice outside in the garden.
What is your payment policy and do you give refunds in relation to cancellations due to Covid?
Payment is £250 per room at the time of booking and the remainder one month before arrival. If you have to cancel due to Covid, you are invited to rebook on another date. If that is not possible, payment is fully reimbursed.
Can I get an official receipt to help with reimbursement from my organisation?
I can provide an invoice for any of my Norfolk Yoga Retreats if you need to submit one to your organisation’s training or wellbeing budget. Let me know while you’re making your booking and I’ll email you an invoice.
