This is a one-hour hatha yoga class. The warm-up always includes some pranayama breathwork and the class closes with a meditation or a calming breathing exercise.
Bridget is a big fan of starting class with salutations (both earth & sun) as they allow students to turn off their busy minds and connect to their practice.
The class is open to all levels but you do need to be able to get up and down off the mat with ease. This class is therefore not adapted to people who do chair yoga.
£8 per session payable in cash
Please bring your own yoga mat & a blanket.
Bridget from MindSteadyGo will be running outdoor yoga classes on land and on the water this summer.
There will be outdoor yoga classes on a nature reserve in Heacham North Beach (starting mid-May – watch this space) and GO WITH THE FLOW yoga + breathwork sessions on the water in collaboration with Brancaster Boards.
Heacham village has a beautiful, peaceful nature reserve called The Saltings, tucked away behind Heacham North Beach.
Every Tuesday evening from mid-May (and weather permitting), Bridget will be running a very special yoga + breathwork class.
Watch this space or our Instagram account for the start date in 2023.
The outdoor yoga session will be held in The Saltings Nature Reserve. The reserve lies parallel to Heacham North Beach and is a wonderful haven for wildlife. It is the home to rabbits, pheasants and all manners of other creatures. This means the terrain is somewhat wild – definitely not a level lawn.
After 40 minutes of hatha yoga aimed at all levels, the class will walk over to the sea wall (2 mins walks) to finish with some breathwork and meditation looking out to sea. If it’s high tide, you may have the sea lapping at your feet & you can jump in for a swim afterwards. The beach faces west and the setting sun.
£10 per session payable in cash
No booking required – just turn up
£1 yoga mat hire
If it’s not raining and not blowing a gale, the outdoor yoga class will take place. Check our Instagram page to see if a class has been cancelled – we post at 4pm Thursdays to let you know
Classes will be held in The Saltings Nature Reserve – just north of the North Beach car park, Heacham. The best place to park is in the Heacham North Beach car park (see map on the right).
You can walk along the sea wall from Hunstanton if you want to come on foot. Once the row of beach houses ends and the row of beach huts begin, walk over the sea wall and you’ll be opposite The Saltings Nature Reserve.
Exit the car park and facing the beach huts, turn right. Walk about 2 minutes down the unmade-up road, past the North Beach Holiday home park entrance and you’ll find the The Saltings entrance on your right. You can see picnic tables and a bike stand. You will see us setting up the class on the left as you enter the nature reserve.
Join us and reap the benefits of practising yoga outdoors.
An immersive, mindful stand up paddle board (SUP) experience. Reconnect to yourself and nature as you paddle along NW Norfolk’s beautiful wild coastline.
For this unique immersive adventure, you will experience the natural rhythms of the sun and the moon, motion & stillness – all while paddling or floating peacefully on your board.
As the tide flows in and dawn breaks, you will paddle through the stillness to a secluded, side creek where the group moors to a post.
Here, under the guidance of Yoga Teacher & Breath Coach Bridget Rooth, you’ll be led through a series of simple yoga poses to reconnect you to your body before practising some breathwork to calm your mind & help you centre yourself.
Finally, sitting or lying on your board, you will be lulled into a meditative state by the sea’s rhythmic rocking & the seabirds’ calls. There’s also time for a morning swim before enjoying a paddle back to harbour and a hot steaming cup of Chai tea.
Previous experience of paddling / yoga / breath work / is not required as you will be under the instruction of Annalisa Dovey from Brancaster Boards and guided by Yoga Teacher & Breath Coach Bridget Rooth.
If you are a little water nervous, don’t worry, we will all be wearing buoyancy aids!
This time, as the tide flows in and the sun sets, you will paddle through the last rays of the day to a serene spot to moor up. Here, under the guidance of Yoga Teacher & Breath Coach Bridget Rooth, you’ll be led through a series of simple yoga poses to reconnect you to your body before practising some calming breathwork.
Finally, in the evening glow, sitting or lying on your board, you will be invited to lie back and watch the clouds, tune into nature or just relax to the rhythmic rocking of your paddleboard. There’s time for a swim before a paddle back to the harbour.
This session is not all about mindfulness though – there is ample room for silliness, splashing falls & swims. Previous experience of paddling / yoga / breath work / is not necessary – you are in the safe hands of SUP instructor Annalisa Dovey and Yoga Teacher & Breath Coach Bridget Rooth.
Wetsuits are available and everyone will be wearing buoyancy aids. Come join us for an unforgettable Go With The Flow experience.
